September is the point where the fixture list gets serious. Squads are settled, the early tables are readable, and every top league plays three full rounds before the players scatter for country duty. If you are opening a Bet9ja account this month, the promotion code is YOHAIG.

What you get for entering the code

The promo field sits on the Bet9ja registration form and most people scroll straight past it. Skipping it is a quiet loss, because the field only works once. Put YOHAIG in the field and the account picks up the welcome offer, which runs to a maximum of ₦100,000 based on what you deposit first.

The code itself is free. It applies to new accounts only, and the bonus carries rollover conditions like every welcome offer in the Nigerian market. Read them on the promo page before you fund the account rather than after.

Register with promotion code YOHAIG to claim up to ₦100,000 as a welcome bonus.

How the month starts

The game most Nigerian punters will build around is Arsenal against Chelsea at 16:30 on the Sunday. It sits inside a heavy weekend. The same Saturday gives you Newcastle United against Bournemouth at 12:30 and Hull City against Aston Villa at 17:30. Every time given is WAT. Because the UK is still on summer time, UK listings match Nigerian time exactly in September.

The middle weekend, 11 to 14 September

The heavyweight game here is Sunderland against Arsenal at 20:00 on the Saturday night. Around it you get Liverpool against Fulham at 15:00 and Chelsea against Hull City at the same time. There is a La Liga midweek card from the 15th to the 17th that catches people out.

The last weekend before the break, 18 to 20 September

The month signs off with Fiorentina against Napoli at 11:30 on the Sunday morning. After that the club calendar shuts down. Every one of the big five leagues pauses after Sunday 20 September and none of them restart until October. The extended FIFA window runs from 24 September to 6 October, so there is no top-flight club football in those countries between 21 and 30 September.

The complete list, all competitions and times in WAT, is here: Bet9ja fixtures for the month.

What is on during the break

In Nigeria the break is anything but quiet. Nigeria begin 2027 AFCON qualifying against Madagascar in Uyo, then go on the road to Guinea-Bissau four days after that. The draw put Nigeria in Group L alongside Tanzania, Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau, and there is a catch in it. Because Tanzania co-host the finals and are through regardless, the qualifying maths in that group is not the usual top-two arrangement. With the 2026 World Cup gone, the mood around the team is short on patience.

Practical notes for September

•

• Put the code in during sign-up, because it cannot be added later. The code only applies to a new account.
•

• Set a figure for the month before the first Friday and stick to it.
•

• Read the rollover terms on the welcome bonus before your first deposit.
•

• Weight your month towards 4 to 20 September. The back end of the month is thin.
•

• Price the AFCON games on their own terms, not by club-football habits. Travel and squad availability matter far more in qualifiers.
•

• Cut a leg or two off the acca you were about to build.
•

Terms shift, so read the live version rather than something cached in a group chat. The full breakdown of the current Bet9ja promo code sits on bet9japromotioncode.ng.
